CD review: Cabin Fever indeed

Cabin Fever
The Scaramanga Six
(Wrath)

This band produce a bizarre mixture of Tom Jones-ish lounge music (mostly due to their lead singer's voice), Spandau Ballet and the latest in jangly power pop. The mixture creates something that is rather delightful and amusing. Highlights are the first single 'Horrible Face' which is bloody brilliant camp lounge sleaze. Another highlight is 'Poison Pen' which is included here as an MPEG video as well. There is a HIM-esque goth pop vibe hidden there as well in some of the tunes. Horribly catchy and deceptively clever this lot have everything you want to power pop. The Leeds boys done rather good really.
