SAVATAGE guitarist Chris Caffery has posted the following update at his official website, discussing the media reaction to his upcoming solo album, Faces / God Damn War:
“Reactions continue to be great on the CD. Even the things that I have heard that appear a little negative are positive to me. For instance...an editor of one magazine told me he thought that GDWar was too dark and angry. Umm...hello????? It is not titled Barbie's Birthday Bash!!!! GOD DAMN WAR!!!!!
Another ironic one...I should have narrowed things down and released one 10 song CD. Um...I recorded the additional CD's out of a budget for one CD...I am giving a shitload of music away for free...at a time when people are complaining about people stealing music I am doing something for the fans and hear this...if you are too lazy to listen to all of the music for your review then...I CANT HELP YOU!!!! Listen to something else! I think the fans will be happy and that is what matters to me!
Plus...it is awfully tough to narrow it down...everyone seems to have a different favorite three. Each song, without exception, has been in someone's favorite three. Twenty-five different favorites in the top three...ummm, if I leave 15 off then a lot of fans will not have a favorite song there...so...NOT!!! Skip to the next song or make a new playlist...
It is quite humorous...at first the press was complaining that there was too much music on the two CD's...so..the promo became just Faces...then they complain that they wish they could hear War....I give up!!! The next CD will be 65 songs...all 10 minutes long...how does that sound?
Yes...I am a bit punchy today...I think it is the humidity!!!
This is good for the new heavy music. I am working on a new Butcher song actually...a song called ‘Crushed by The Infidel’. I will explain why at a later date...Ponder away!!!!
I have a ton of stuff to do so I am off for now...just wanted to check in. Info on how to get ahold of 'The Mold' is up...if you don't see the CD right away at the site posted it should be there very soon...
