British government plans robot spy planes
The British government has plans to invest 16 million pounds in unmanned aircraft that could be used for fire and police surveillance. The project is called Autonomous Systems Technology Related Airborne Evalution and Assessment (ASTRAEA) is a $57.9 million project that will develop existing technology with the aim of bringing the unmanned vehicles into regular use.
The Arcade Fire to self-produce next album
The Arcade Fire have decided to self-produce the follow-up to their 2004 debut LP Funeral. They have been working with engineers Scott Colburn and Marcus Dravs and his assistant Francois Chevallier. They have wrapped up the string recordings for the record. No release date has been set for the new album.
Mariah Carey will be hitting the road for her Adventures of Mimi on August 5th. For the first time in her career she will be travelling between tour dates on a tour bus. The singer had previously always travelled by air between tour dates. Carey is also hoping to equip her bus with a mobile recording studio.
