Bravo to launch OutzoneTV.com
Bravo is set for next month’s launch of OutzoneTV.com, a broadband channel targeted specifically to gays and lesbians. The channel will be based around video-on-demand of the Bravo programs “Gay Weddings”, “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and “Boy meets Boy”. It will also have interactive features which will allow users to share their opinions and post comments.
New Orleans music to be honored at Grammys
at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards there will be a tribute to New Orleans and its musical tradition. Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, The Edge of U2, Elvis Costello and Sam Moore will be joined on stage by New Orleans natives Irma Thomas, Dr. John and Allen Toussaint. The awards show will be aired on Wednesday.
Geffen/UMe Records re-release Sonic Youth classics
On March 14th, Sonic Youth’s self-titled debut will be re-released. The band consider the self-titled record their first album even though it only has five tracks on it. The reissue will contain seven live tracks and a demo of “Where the Red Fern Grows”. Also to be re-released on the 14th are The Whitey Album and Thurston Moore’s solo venture Psychic Hearts. New Sonic Youth is tentatively due out in June.
