Despite, or because of, their ultimate subjectivity and sand castle substantiality, rankings of such musical units as albums, guitar players, songs and album covers draw a vast amount of attention and heated debate: one man's meat is another's poison.
In response to the outrage and disbelief over Spin magazine's list of the 100 greatest albums of the last 20 years (see below), the gantlet has been thrown down for Blogcritics writers to come up with their own true and righteous versions of said lunacy. And I threw in some older, similarly quixotic album lists for good measure.
