Napster's Free Download of the Day launched this week. The first week of free downloads features music from Sanctuary, including a track from Iron Maiden's newest hit album, as well as Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA) artists, including "Nature of the Experiment" from newbie indie rockers Tokyo Police Club and "Bread on the Table" from Grammy-nominated country singer Tom Wurth. In addition to Sanctuary and IODA, labels who have signed on to provide content for the Free Download of the Day program include !K7 Records, Indeyo Records, One Little Indian Records, and Sarathan Records. Featured downloads will be archived and available for seven days on a dedicated history page.

Kevin Federline's Playing With Fire features production from hit makers Jonathan "J.R" Rotem (50 Cent, Rihanna, Rick Ross) and Bosko (E-40, Kanye West, T.I.). Check out some tracks from the album: "Privilege" featuring Bosko (lo|hi), "Lose Control" (lo|hi), and "Americas Most Hated" (lo|hi).

The Rock Ridge Music label has just launched a site to share its artists' music for free. One song from eight different artists will be featured at any given time on the site; debut artists for the launch include: Redding, Tony Lucca, Five.Bolt.Main, Psychostick, Travis Mitchell Band, Blanco Diablo, The Accident Experiment, and Boy Hits Car. Music fans can sign up to receive email notification when the site offerings are changed. Initially, plans are in place to rotate available songs once a month, but more frequent content rotation is planned after the Christmas holidays so folks can load up their brand new iPods.

Clarence Greenwood is Citizen Cope. For more than 10 years, his distinctive take on the singer-songwriter genre has set him apart from the dime-a-dozen competition. His latest outing, Every Waking Moment, takes a step back from his usual topical fare to examine the world as a whole. The video for first single, "Back Together," (director Paul Dektor's debut) matches Citizen Cope's laidback, hip-hop-tinged pop with time-lapse images of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Mutronium rocks the skate park with "The Heart That Overwhelms The Mind":
