    Yes, quite a few black-metallers use KISS as their template which is pretty amusing. Some of em', like King Diamond, got it too close and got sued by Gene & Co. I still don't get why "corpse-paint" is suppose to be scary.

    What I find most amusing is that I know several black metal fans who find it very funny. I think the only people who thick those guys look hard are themselves.

    What percentage of black metallers actually take themselves seriously? I suspect a lot of them treat the whole thing as pantomime.

    I have actually met several black metal musicians who do take themselves way too seriously. Of course, what they don't realise is that makes them even funnier. The other daft thing, of course, is the illegible logo requirement in black metal. Its part of the whole "extreme" thing.
