Beyonce and Daddy Knowles Get the Last Laugh - Page 2

Even if Beyonce didn’t receive any acting awards, she’s bound to be a Grammy winner next year for her incredible song “Irreplaceable,” one of the best-written and performed songs this decade. Just as the song “Beautiful” saved Christina Aguilera’s musical career, “Irreplaceable” did a complete 360 degree turn for Beyonce: “Irreplaceable” has been the number 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 for the past ten weeks!

One could easily compare this to past number-one songs and say it is a cheap sellout, but they would be ignorant to do so. The guitar, Beyonce’s vocal performance, and strong statements such as “I could have another you in a minute!” blend together beautifully in one of the most untypical, but compelling pop songs in years. Like Beyonce’s other music, you can bet that far less talented stars, such as Mariah Carey, will do everything possible to emulate this song.

Even though Beyonce is on top again, she may want to watch out. There are still many people waiting to bring her down. In the past couple of weeks, angry bloggers and critics have written about her refusal to pay for her backing dancers’ flight to attend rehearsals. Even worse, she is allegedly only paying them $400 per video. Beyonce is definitely a diva. Then again, she has earned the right to be one.

I must admit the only songs I liked from Destiny's Child were Survivor, Bootylicious... they were bubblegum to me. But I love B's B-day. Her voice is like a fine wine, aging perfectly. Her vocal range is outstanding. As for the dancers, well let's give her time to rectify that situation. Clean up that mess DIVA, and represent like the true diva you are.

Anyone can admit Mariah is the most talented lady in the business!!

and the reocrds are there to prove it,

sh aint the biggest selling female artist in history for no reason

The difference between Mariah and Beyonce is that Beyonce's hit singles were actually hits, not cheaply discounted 39 cent singles. By the way, Moo Moo is not the best selling female artist. Babs is.

Okay, I was feeling your article until you said Mariah is far less talented than Beyonce. Beyonce said, and I quote, "the first time I heard Vision of Love, I knew I wanted to be a singer". Either your full of haterade, on crack, or young and dumb. Irreplaceable reminds me of Shake it Off, dummy.

I see Mariah's "lambs" have been sent to comment on this article, which really has nothing to do with the stuffed sausage has-been. Please leave your comments on the Mariah fan boards, if there are any. Judging by ticket sales from Mariah's last tour, nobody is exactly listening.

Great article Daryl D (what is your last name, by the way)? I think Beyonce is a very talented lady and her career will eventually be hurt by her father, if he doesn't back off. She's lucky this time that "Irreplaceable" saved her career.

I agree that Irreplaceable is one of the best songs in recent years. Perhaps this should have been the first single from B'day?

I think Beyonce is a very talented young lady and she will be fine. Do your thang girl! I honestly don't understand the diss against Mariah though. You don't have to put Mariah Carey down to make Beyonce look good. Why even mention Mariah at all?

Irreplaceable does not sound like no Shake it Off! Irreplaceable is a straight up classic! With that said, I love me some Mariah, despite this bloggers childish comments about her ( rolls eyes ). Anyways, I agree with this article to a certain point. I just feel Beyonce is getting outshined by certain artists like Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, even Nellie Furtado. I mean she performed at the Grammys last night and nobody is really talking about it. Anyways, congratulations to Beyonce for winning a Grammy for B'day! Yes, she did win a Grammy.

Notice that the comments here (well, except two or three) had a Mariah mention... haha, are you having a problem in getting attention from people without mentioning/ hating another artist?

"Like Beyonce’s other music, you can bet that far less talented stars, such as Mariah Carey, will do everything possible to emulate this song."
Haha, I just laugh at this. I guess this is what far less talented writers, such as yourself, do to get more attention from readers.

Great article, Daryl. Though, by reading some of your previous articles (some are hilarious), I would never think of you as a Beyonce Knowle's fan.

I don't want to call myself a fan yet, but "Irreplaceable" is definitely leading me into that direction. Most of her music, in my opinion, has been processed, cookie cutter r&b. I never imagined how successful she would be singing a pop song like "Irreplaceable." It's one of those songs that is so good that it gives you the shivers after hearing it.

    Irreplaceable is a modern classic.
    It saved her career.

Daryl: Try learning some professionalism. Perhaps take one or two (or a sh*tload more on second thought) of writing/j courses...they could come in handy. So tactless.

BTW, too bad the Beyonce backlash had basis seeing as now it's coming around that Bee doesn't even write her own material. Daddy forces her name on the credits. Ne-Yo wrote Irreplaceable, not Bee.

At least Mariah writes her own material.

Babs may be the best selling female artist of all time, but Mariah is still so far beyond Beyonce it's not even a joke.

And Mariah doesn't have any number ones based on 39 cent singles. Had LOVERBOY reached number one (which it didn't) then it would be the only number one out of 18 (17 current + Loverboy) to be on top due to sales tactics. Don't be jealous that MC's got 17 #1's.

So check your facts, learn some professionalism, and then write an intelligent article worth reading.

Daryl, Irreplaceable has led you to become a fan... funny, that song wasnt even written by her. But she knowingly tries to deceive her fans by telling them she "wrote it for all the strong women" out there. What an idiot. NEYO WROTE ALL THE LYRICS!!

I think you need to do your research: Daddy Knowles forces her name on the credits. Havent you heard, she did the same thing with "Listen" - the song got nominated for an Oscar but Bey was disqualified because she didnt contribute to the song, but her name is still on the credits.

The Oscars even went as far as saying thats how she won a songwriting Grammy for "Crazy in Love" - she only wrote the bridge of the song and won a Grammy. She gave Rich Harrison 2 hours to write the song for her.

And you have the nerve to say this twit is more talented than Mariah? Plzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm the biggest Beyonce fan and not so much the mariah fan. but I will say that the comment the writer said about "less talented artrist such as carey" was a little .. stupid. i mean her voice is beautiful and powerful. Beyonces voice gives me goose bumps, like those run and riffs she did on sunday although that was the worse performance from her by far since forever. she looked tired and sounded flat but she is Beyonce and can get away with it, because even on her worse day she stills sounds better that the majority of other pop "singers" in the bizz. By the way Mary J and Miss Aguleria were incredible.

The Grammys should be ashamed for awarding her with a songwriting grammy for Crazy in Love. This is the bridge she wrote:

    [Bridge - beyonce]
Got me looking, so crazy, my baby
I'm not myself, lately I'm foolish, I don't do this
I've been playing myself, baby I don't care
'Cuz your love's got the best of me
And baby you're making a fool of me
You got me sprung and I don't care who sees
'Cuz baby you got me, you got me, so crazy baby
    Hey!

Did she TRULY deserve that Grammy????? Yeah, I didnt think so!

Is it that your real estate job isn't doing so great your trying to break into something else?(if you're a success @ what you do how do you have time to blog like you do????) hmmm Failure.... Second... What's up with the vendetta against great female R&B singers (mainly beyonce)..... I have to honestly say...Beyonce's career was not apt to fail because the first two single releases... She's a freaking superstar...and Mariah....she's done enough and proven herself worthy of any accolades...so how about YOU hang up the towel with ragging on people because clearly you live in some other crazy world... Stick with real estate...

Beyonce is beyond OVER-RATED, over-hyped and OVER-EXPOSED. Hasn't she learned anything from J.ho? besides trying to cop her style.
