BC Music Goodie Bag: David E. Beats, Kelis, Ed Kowalczyk

Part of: BC Music Goodie Bag

This week we have the return of an old feature: The BC Music Goodie Bag. Look for updates two to three times a week with hot new audio and video clips from your favorite artists (and maybe some you've never heard of before.)

Today, we bring you news, tour dates, and a sneak peak at music from David E Beats, Kelis, and Ed Kowalczyk.

David E Beats

"Maybe Tomorrow" by David E Beats has been nominated for two UMAs (Underground Music Awards): The Undergrounds #1 Contender and Best Video. The Awards will take place August 22 at BB Kings (NYC) but you – the voting public – can help David grab the award by visiting the award website beginning July 8.

The video is set after a post-catastrophic near-future event. Beats is among the few survivors and we see him struggling through a nuclear winter. The emphasis is on loneliness and losing all that is dear, but in the end there is a message of self-reliance.

About the nomination and last year's awards David E Beats said, "I couldn’t attend the UMA last year and this year I’m nominated twice! It’s great that there is an actual platform at the disposal of indie artists to showcase our talent and celebrate our accomplishments."

As a special bonus to Goodie Bag readers, check out the David E Beats video for "Over Here":

NYC residents, be sure to catch David E Beats with The White House band at Crash Mansion on July 8, at 11:30 PM.

Kelis

"4th of July," from the album Flesh Tone is the latest single from Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Kelis. She will be performing it next Tuesday, July 13 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon but our readers get a chance to check out the video below.

Good to see this feature back (love the banner, by the way). And good to see Ed from Live back in action as well. Thanks for the post.

Thanks, Charlie. The banner and icon are courtesy of my daughter.

I always like looking/listening at new video/audio from these bands and it's fun to share brand new releases with others.
