It was four years ago that the Bangles reunited to record a track for the
Austin Powers soundtrack, and now, three years after hitting the road on a
reunion tour, the group is issuing an all-new reunion album, the Bangles'
first LP of new tunes since 1988's 'Everything'.
The 15-track 'Doll Revolution' will be released 9 Sep through Koch
Entertainment, and the single, 'Something That You Said', will narrowly
precede it.

I'm ready for it. But, then, I bought the Go-Go's God Bless the Go-Go's last year, too.

I love "In Your Room," "Eternal Flame," and "If She Knew What She Wants," but can't stand, "Manic Monday," and "Walk Like An Egyptian." I'm hoping the new album will be more like that former and less like the latter.

I love ALL the songs you named, especially "Walk Like a Proctologist." We used to do the dance: rubber glove, index finger extended ...

Bangles - hooraaaaaaaaaaaaay.
Great voices. Tiny lead singer. Fun and never pretended they weren't just in for the fun. I like em

This is real girl power. I got the cd and it's beyond words. Much better than a lot of crap the TRL people try to shove down our throats.
Here's my quick review, song by song:
"Tear off your own head" - the only cover, this is a funky Elvis Costello tune. If you liked "In your room", you'll LOVE this. Susanna Hoffs does sulty vocals.
"Stealing Rosemary"- Very folky, sounds like a Simon & Garfunkle tune. Sung by the Peterson sisters, this song is very mellow. Rainy Day music.
"Something that you said"- the new single. Very polished, mid-tempo and pretty. Susanna Hoffs croons beautifully on this one.
"Ask me no questions"- Drummer Debbi Peterson does her best vocals on this song. Her gorgeous alto voice is in the same class as Anne Murray or Christine McVie and goes hand in hand with the beauty of this great ballad.
"The Rain Song"- This song also appears on the latest Hootie and the blowfish cd and on the last Continental Drifters cd. Written by guitarist Vicki Peterson, she also does the lead vocals. It's kind of twangy and has the Bangles great signature background vocals. This song is so good, it's no suprise it's being recorded so much.
"Nickel Romeo"- Sung by bassist Michael Steele, this one has the most intriging lyrics. A very strong track!
"Ride the ride"- This is an accoustic rocker. All the girls join singing like they did in their "hazy shade of winter" period. You can't help but sing along.
"I will take care of you"- This was recently released in a remixed version as a single in some countries. A slowie, but unlike "eternal flame", this one has more of a accoustic feel to it. Susanna Hoffs sings lead on this one.
"Here right now"- This is a plush pop song. Sounds like it could pop off of a 1986 Bangles record. Lead vocalist Debbi Peterson brings a lot of warmth and sunshine to this one.
"Single by choice"- This song, sung by Vicki Peterson, has the best guitar line and it just rocks live.
“Lost at sea”- Has become one of my all-time favorite Bangle songs. Sung by Debbi Peterson, her creamy vocals do an enchanting duet with Susanna Hoffs backing vocals throughout this song. It’s simply breathtaking. The most soothing song on the cd.
“Song for a good son”- A cross between sounding like a Lyndsey Buckingham song and a Natalie Merchant song (if you can imagine that!), It’s adult contemporary but never loses it’s coolness. The BEST song on the cd! The magnificent Michael Steele does lead on this one.
“Mixed messages”- This is a nice little Vicki Peterson tune.
“Between the two”- The rocker of the cd. Michael Steele sings this one and she kicks butt big time. Another personal fave of mine.
“Grateful”- A slowie Susanna song, this one has a nice little tribute to the late George Harrison in it. A great ender to this cd.
BONUS TRACKS
“Getting out of hand”- the BANGS (the band’s name beforehand) first single back in 1981, cleaned up and re-released for your pleasure. Sounds like if Austin Powers was to perform the theme from Sesame Street. Swinging, baby.. yeah!
“Call on me”- The flip side of the Bangs 1981 single, this one is also cleaned up and it’s neat to hear how much they’ve changed when listening to this.

This is easily the best Bangles album ever.
"Song for a Good Son" is the best track on the CD - a rock classic if ever there was one. The CD is worth buying just for this track.

The best release by the Bangles is their lastest. DOLL REVOLUTION has those harmonies that we all enjoyed in the 80's, and now with a more comtemporary sound. Can't say enough about this cd. Advise everyone to go out and buy it.
