Don't worry - the chances of Westlife being number one on Sunday now seem to be approximately zero. Why? Because the re-release of Peter Andre's
Mysterious Girl looks likely to have shifted 100,000 units by Sunday -
aaaaaaaaargh! So confident are the bookmakers that Andre will be number one
this weekend they have closed all bets and are already paying out for those
that had put money on the nineties pop star turned reality TV contestant
topping the charts.
Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush told reporters yesterday: "Our sources tell
us that there is no way Mysterious Girl won't be number one on Sunday, so we
have started paying out. Peter has his knockers but come Sunday he will be a
mighty oak of the music business rather than an acorn."
With Andre-mania seemingly alive again, bookies have slashed the odds of that dreadful track he penned in the jungle - 'Insania' - being number one this year from 50/1 to 2/1. Rumour also has it that Andre plans to record a cover of Phil Collins' 'Against All Odds' with jungle buddy Jordan. Oh joy oh joy oh joy.
