It almost seems that O' Brien has somehow replaced the late, great Bruce Fairbairn as THE eminent rock producer (Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Aerosmith). Fairbairn passed away at age 49 at the peak of his career, producing an extremely large range of artists; his producing style was always hallmarked by discipline and a fuller reach of his own input as a musician himself (Fairbairn played horns), and he is sorely missed to this day.
At any rate, whenever Aerosmith releases the new album, it should be worth the wait, and should usher in a new era in the band's long and storied career. Eight years without any new release is the longest dormant time that Aerosmith has ever had now. But as always, the band is hoped to rise to the occasion and show the world that they aren't finished with their nine lives yet.

How is "Legs" is either rap or disco?
No offense, but ZZ Top should headline & Aerosmith should take a Permanent Vacation.
Ah..I kill myself

Brian,
If you listen to "Legs," they are using electronic drums and percussion, and there is a pulsating beat that is heard throughout the song. Furthermore, some tidbits from Wikipedia (sorry about this):
"By late 1983, with the telling release of Eliminator, ZZ Top had undertaken a complete artistic reinvention both in sound and image. Eliminator featured a darkly innovative and distinctive synthesizer-laced sound which wove into and augmented the band's guitar-bass-drums formula, a rarity in the blues-rock genre. Beard also played most songs to a click track, maintaining a metronomic rhythm to synchronize with the electronic instruments.
With the advent of MTV, ZZ Top also readily embraced the phenomenon of the music video and boosted itself to new popularity with video releases of 'Gimme All Your Lovin'', 'Legs' and 'Sharp Dressed Man.'
The ZZ Top sound now featured a modern, electronic, and danceable formula which won the band new fans and multi-million-dollar success in sales, radio and video play, and live tours. Eliminator remains ZZ Top's most successful album to date."
I don't necessarily disagree that ZZ Top should headline. But in this case, I believe they are co-headlining. As for the Permanent Vacation, I guess that's a matter of opinion. Personally, I think they still have something to say.

what is the the disco/rap genre?
And an encore with "Legs" would mean an early exit

I really think you know the answer, EB. You just can't admit it to yourself freely.
I'm pretty sure you'd stay even if the encore was "Legs" if there were two big breasted women on stage just barely scantily clad.

Does anyone know the name of the new album??

Wait....this article completely ignores the 2004 album Honkin' on Bobo. I mean, I realize it's the only album in 30 years not to have a Top 40 single from them, but it wasn't that bad...was it? It was all blues covers, so that's why they didn't mention it, I guess.

Huntr04, you're right about that. I meant a whole album of new material.
