This lot are unsigned, but got one of their tracks in the BBC show. "Hustle" is melodic and deep. It just sucks you in and takes hold. It's mellow and has a bit of a Joy Division and Portishead feel to the tracks here. Good harmonising doesn't hurt either. Mesmerizing music that deserved to be listened to by music fans all over. This is quality stuff that is perfect for the post-evening out mellow-out session. "Valley of Salt" and "Firefly Tail-lights" are both top quality and deserve to be freaking huge.
Megiddo: Bloodshed and Underdogs
Well played, competent, if not that unique, deathy metal. They have all the bits in place and just need a little more in the way of songs to get higher on the metal heap. Death metal vocals and driving guitars ... plus the requisite blastbeat drumming combine nicely on tracks like "This Hell." A short intro as the title track as well as three tracks are just enough to give one the impression this lot has oodles of potential. One to watch that is for sure; expect them to get signed soon.
Well that is enough excitement for one column and a bit of a dent in the ole' heavy rock pile o' CDs. And no GoD's tracks haven't showed up on iTunes yet.
Stay rocking and stay safe; see you next week.
