3 Inches of Boredom

Advance & Vanquish
3 Inches of Blood
(Roadrunner)

If there were a catagory for Metal MOR, then this lot would head my list for entry. The band, from Canada, seem to be trying to do for metal what Nickleback did to grunge. Its not horrid at all, but just terribly boring. There is a clear sense of deja vu when listening to this lot. We have all heard before from the likes of Savatage, Judus Priest and Armoured Saint; except all three bands do it much better. Lyrically they band almost stumble into Manowar territory with their level of cheese. The music just drones on and on, not much variation in its approach, either vocally or sonically. The cover of the CD seems to "inspired" by an Armoured Saint cover. Its not total pants, just nothing special. They have two lead vocalists, too bad they have not figured out a way of truly use this as an asset. This lot show quite a bit of potential, but just need to raise their game a wee bit. Average metal for those who haven't heard it done any better.
