2006 Grammy Nominees, which highlights this years nominees by The Recording Academy will be in stores this Tuesday, January 24. The CD is a joint release by The Recording Academy and Sony BMG, and contains 21 of the most recognizable Grammy nominated artists and songs.
The CD is made possible by special arrangements with all of the major music distributors, and the academy rotates the distributor which will release the compilation every year.
"We are proud to continue our successful relationship with The Recording Academy and are so honored that we can once again be associated with one of the music industry's biggest events," said Sony BMG's Strategic Marketing Group Executive Vice President/General Manager Joe Dimuro.
The Recording Academy, established in 1957, is an organization of musicians, producers, engineers and recording professionals. As well as improving the quality of life and cultural condition for music and its makers it is also responsible for groundbreaking professional development, cultural enrichment, advocacy, education and human services programs including the creation of the national public education campaign What's The Download.
The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 8, 2006 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be on CBS at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online.

I assume you are referring to the fact the Grammys now seem to be more about chatability then the quality of music. If so -- I agree.

You said it...Spot on. I still don't buy it that just because these artists make tons of money that they are true musicians.I mean, Alot of people buy McDonald's but their food tastes like crap and is bad for your health...Hmmm, Maybe ColdPlay really does kill brain cells!?!

The nice thing about compilations like this is you do an album full of hits instead of an album with a handful of them.
