In the line of the never ending NOW That's What I Call Music series, the most recent output (#32) is quite frankly, the best compilation that the series has done this year. While NOW That's What I Call Music, Vol. 31 was a great CD, it looks like the series has outdone itself with the latest, NOW That's What I Call Music, Vol. 32.

Leading off very burly with the Black Eyed Peas party anthem, “I Gotta Feeling” (which will no doubt be the biggest song at the forthcoming New Years Eve celebrations this year), the CD picks some of the most sizzling moments of 2009 while still maintaining the well rounded documents the collections have always been.

Mariah Carey’s alleged shot at Eminem “Obsessed” is irresistible as is French-based DJ David Gueretta’s “Sexy Chick” (which really shines with the help of R&B crooner, Akon).

The obligatory appearance from American Idol alums (Jordan Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, and Daughtry) is interesting, but the finest moments belong to Katy Perry (“Waking Up In Vegas”), Lady Gaga (and her not so subtle come-on, “LoveGame”), Shakira (who surprised all with the techno drenched, “She Wolf”) and Keri Hilson’s wondrous, “Knock You Down.”

Pitbull’s “Hotel Room Service” is a vast addition to the CD, as it was possibly the preeminent Hip Hop song of the year.

A consummate year-end set from the most reliable greatest hits collection series ever.
