Die hard SpongeBob fans rejoice! When you can’t be in front of the TV watching SpongeBob, you can now listen to the songs from the shows! If you are like me and have watched each episode at least a dozen times, once the song plays, clips from the episode from which they are from, will reel through you mind’s eye. If, however, you are not hooked on the little yellow sponge, such as myself and my family are, you will still have tons of fun with this vast collection of songs ranging from pop tunes such as “The Best Day Ever” to a “Wipe Out” inspired “Doing the Sponge” and heartfelt tearjerkers like “Gary’s Song“.
Just to touch upon our family’s delight with this set of songs, when the first recording, “SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song” came over the speakers, my three year old son clapped, raced over to me and pulled me up to dance with him. Keep in mind that as a baby and young toddler, TV was never something he was interested in, however, as soon as the theme song of SpongeBob played, he dropped everything and ran to the TV, staring just long enough until the song was over (complete with playing his nose like a flute), then would turn and go about his business.
Also included in the CD insert are fun bits of trivia and information on each song contained, as well as pencil sketches of the cartoon itself. This is a collection ten years in the making and well worth the wait, as it is sure to bring tons of smiles, dancing and laughter.
If that isn’t enough excitement or incentive to pick up this eye catching and absorbing collection of music, there is a couple little bonuses in store for listeners! On tracks 15 (“SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song“) and 16 (“We‘ve Got Scurvy“), guest vocals make an appearance by Cee-Lo Green and Pink, respectively. When not listening to the CD in your stereo, just pop it into your computer for a visually tasty treat for the eyes with song lyrics, photos and other goodies from SpongeBob and his sea bearing friends! Keep in mind that the online bonus content is good only through 11:59 EST on December 31, 2010 (plenty of time to enjoy the fun!)
Do be aware that once you have listened to SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits, there may be random overtaking of your brain, where a certain song or melody from the recording will become obnoxiously lodged within your cerebral cortex. That being said, this is 100% fun, silliness and goofiness – in other words, complete SpongeBob! Great fun for adults and children!
Now, what are you waiting for:
"Ohhh, who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
SpongeBob SquarePantsAbsorbent and yellow and porous is he!
If nautical nonsense is something you wish…
Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish!
Is it stuck yet?! Huh?! Huh?! Is it?! Is it?!Powered by Sidelines
