From the successful aftermath of his trademark song “Say,Say“, Kristian Stanfill storms out with a beautiful sophomore project. Reminding Worshippers what really matters as we set sail this year he offers Mountain Move. This is a continuation if you like, of the sprightful worship ballad Day after Day EP from last year!
Lion cubs are known to be rambunctious whilst they play around in their father’s territory. Come rain or Sunlight, in-sight or out-of-sight these youngsters are confident their parents’ have their backs. Kristian draws a similar parallel in Mountains Move as he enjoins believers to launch out in such child-like faith to level all seeming insurmountables.
Mountains Move represents a significant departure for Stanfill from many years of songwriting solo. He stepped outside of his comfort zone and fully embraced the concept of co-writing, as he teamed up with Dove Award winning songwriter Jason Ingram, GRAMMY ® Award nominated artist Chris Tomlin and Hillsong’s Reuben Morgan.
Mountains Move is a balanced piece of reverent and insightful worship music. It shows the indubitable testimony of an tried and tested believer’s faith journey.
If one’d put the whole album’s singles in poetry form,it’d sound somewhat like this:
“Lord Almighty, Day after day in confident faith I trust in you to reign in my life and over all the earth; Because You always Hold my World within Orbit so it won’t stray off. Rest Assured therefore am I, that save under your Sovereign Arms like the lion cubs in the jungle my Mountains stand no chance before me throughout the year than to move”!
Hence from the first popping beats through to the folk laced “Holding my World” reassuring track(my favorite by the way),till fade; Mountains Move ticks the box as one inspirational worship music everyone could do with.
What a smacking way to kick off the year Kristian!
