Moscow’s RTS Exchange Downed by Virus and The Daily Music and Tech News

Trading on Moscow’s RTS Exchange Stopped by Virus

Trading on Moscow’s Russian Trading System was brought to a standstill for nearly an hour on Thursday by a virus. The virus was traced to one computer which was then turned off. No irreversible damage occurred. The RTS say this was a deliberate attack.

Corgan, Chamberlain to Reunite

Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain reportedly will work together on a new studio album, possibly reviving the Smashing Pumpkins. James Iha and D’arcy Wretzky currently are not involved in the project. Billy Mohler, formerly of the Calling, will be involved. The Pumpkins are expected to tour at some point during the year.

Cd Wow! To Expand

The online retailer CD Wow! says it has plans to expand. The British company’s hopes to add hundreds of thousands more CD, game and DVD titles in an effort to challenge rivals HMV and Amazon. Last year, CD Wow! grew 35 percent and expanded into Europe. The company hopes to top £26 billion in earnings.
