This week Cecile Raubenheimer checks out the latest installment on lower Seventh Avenue’s blooming dining district and a spiffy new spot for canines near the South Street Seaport.
First up, a brand new brasserie in the West Village, inspired by the artistic roots of the neighborhood and the global perspective of its patrons. Central Kitchen serves up small plates with influences near and far. Central Kitchen is an extension of Tasca, Craig Wilson’s tapas restaurant that opened just two months ago, and maintains the theme of small plates with big flavors. Dishes such as octopus pizzettas and tuna steak frites make good on Central Kitchen’s promise to have something for everyone.
