Links also function to identify authority sites. When a web site or blog garners "link love" from dozens and dozens of separate sites, the search engines treat those incoming links as authority votes and the authority site will appear frequently as a trusted resource.
Effective links should never say "click here" because "click here" does not identify what a site is about. Instead choose a short phrase that tells your reader what the linked to site is about. For example, a blog about Social Security disability law should use those words as the link text.
Relevant and topical links give your blog added credibility and increase the research value of your site as well as the site that is the beneficiary of your link.Powered by Sidelines
