Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell, and Gem Archer are putting Oasis behind them and moving forward...

Liam Gallagher Launches New Band Beady Eye, New Album Slated for February 28, 2011

The band formerly known as Oasis has announced plans for their debut album.  The newly christened Beady Eye features three-fourths of the final lineup of the seminal British band when co-founding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had their final feud and parted ways.

Beady Eye will release Different Gear, Still Speeding on February 28.  The band features Liam Gallagher and Oasis mates Andy Bell and Gem Archer as well as drummer Steve Sharrock.  Bassist Jeff Wootton and keyboardist Matt Jones will join the lineup on tour.  The quartet have been recording intermittently for the past year and the 13-song debut was produced by famed producer Steve Lilywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band).

A first single “Bring The Light” was offered to fans as a free download and the band have already started lining up UK and European tour dates.  They’ve also launched their new web site and have created the requisite social media portals (Twitter / Facebook).

As for the lone Oasis holdout, Noel Gallagher has kept a low profile and is said to be working on a solo album but details about its progress have been scarce.
