Evan Dando ready to once again fly The Lemonheads banner...

Lemonheads Announce New Album, 2009 Summer US Tour

The Lemonheads have announced US tour dates in support of their June 23 new album of covers, Varshons.  Varshons was produced by Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes and features cameos from Liv Tyler and Kate Moss.  Varshons is the first Lemonheads' album in three years, following up their self-titled release in 2006.

The Lemonheads lineup has changed drastically over the years and at one time included indie darling Juliana Hatfield.  For Varshons, Evan Dando teamed up with Vess Ruhtenburg (bass) and Devon Ashley (drums).

As for the eclectic song selections on Varshons, Dando likened it to a greatest hits mix tape on the band's official web site.

The Boston-area natives will kick off their tour at home May 30 before heading to the west coast.  The tour ends in Washington DC on June 30.
