Chicago rockers Kill Hannah and do312.com have teamed up to give up-and-coming bands an incredible opportunity. Beginning December 3 and running through December 9, bands can upload music to the do312 website here. After the initial submission period, the bands and their fans will have the rest of the week (December 10-16) to vote for their favorites. The winners will be notified on December 17. The prize? The opening support set for Kill Hannah’s New Heart for Christmas 9 main event at the Chicago House of Blues on December 22, 2012.

The contest is being marketed primarily to Chicago area bands. However, the official rules do not specify that only Chicago bands are eligible, only that all applicants must be 17 or older. If you can throw your gear in a van and hit the road at the last minute, you can put your hat in the ring. This is an opportunity for one lucky band play to an international audience, as the New Heart for Christmas event draws fans from all around the world.

In addition to Kill Hannah, contest winners will be joined on stage by The Action Blast and Dot Dot Dot. Tickets for the event are available through Live Nation. There are three package levels for sale and as of press time packages are still available at all three levels.
