Kanye West doesn’t have any more weekly G.O.O.D Friday freebies to give fans, but he still wants to make this day of the week special for his hardcore followers. Just a few days ago he confirmed that the lead single from his upcoming collaborative LP with Jay-Z, Watch The Throne, was going to be a song called “H.A.M”.
Today the rapper shows off the super stylish artwork and the single’s official release date, January 11, 2011. Thats the same date Britney Spears will also release her new comback single “Hold It Against Me”. Who do you think will rise as the winner of the hottest joint of the week, Ye’ and Jay-Z or Brit Brit?
Another mystery to be uncovered is the meaning of the “H.A.M” acronym. The single’s artwork—designed by Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci—gives us two clues: a crown and lots of Rottweiler dog’s heads.
The Watch The Throne project was announced by Kanye back in August 2010. He first said the joint album with Jay-Z would consist of five songs but he then changed that number to 10. During the next four months no news about the mentioned CD was released, until the New Year’s party Kanye attended at the Marquee club in Las Vegas where he shouted amidst a cheering crowd that “Watch the Throne [will be] coming in one week.” In the end it seems that was a simply expression of excitement considering the situation, as no Watch The Throne album has been released one week after that New Year’s party. The lead single, however, is almost upon us and for that we’re ready.
