Justice with Judge Jeanine devoted the entire hour to the death of pop icon, Whitney Houston. Whitney was found in her hotel room of the Beverley Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. She was positively identified by family and friends; names were not provided. Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play. No other information was available as to what may be the cause of death. Whitney was 48 years old.
Television reporters are speculating that Whitney’s death is connected to her long struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. She is reported to have gone to rehab not long ago. Even if she wasn’t using the stress on her body from past abuse could cause a heart attack, stroke, among other fatal ailments. Whitney sounded fine when she spoke to her mom twenty minutes before her death. This was a sudden and tragic loss for all of us. I feel for her 19 year old daughter, Bobbi. I know how hard it was for me to lose my mom when I was 39, I can’t imagine what Bobbi will go through being so young. Losing a mom is one of the most difficult losses in life.
Judge Jeanine was correct when she said everyone is still in shock. I know it still doesn’t seem real to me. I remember playing The Bodyguard soundtrack over and over on my headset. Whitney had such an incredible voice and she was a gifted actress. She had been working on new projects. She just finished shooting Sparkle with American Idol’s Jordan Sparks.
Whitney’s hit Greatest Love of All brings back wonderful memories for me; memories of loved ones who have also passed away. Music has a way of stirring emotions and memories in all of us. It’s hard to comprehend that we won’t have anymore new music from such an amazing talent. She was such a beautiful gift to this world. I hope Whitney has found the peace she couldn’t find in life.
