If King Kong were going to select the perfect condo highrise to climb, this one would definitely be it.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Ovation will be the name of the latest luxury waterfront condo project launched by JMC Communities and the Sembler Co. J. Michael Cheezem, JMC’s CEO, said the name was intended to celebrate downtown St. Petersburg’s progress over the years. Downtown is now booming with retail, mixed-use and luxury condo projects.

Ovation condo units will start at $1.6 million and will range from 3,600 sq. ft. to 5,200 sq. ft. Penthouse units will have 360 degree views, and will include views of Tampa Bay. Penthouse units will be priced in the $4 million range. Each condo will have its very own private elevator. There’s nothing else out there like the condos in this 26-story luxury waterfront condo project at the moment, and demand continues to be high for these type of condominiums in Florida’s Tampa Bay area, even with slowing markets in other areas across the country. Sales will start in February, according to the Times article.

Fortunately for those interested, the condo is real and King Kong is not.

Do you have a professional involvement in this development, Mr Real Estate?

No. If I had any involvement with this project, I would have disclosed it. Projects I am directly involved in typically do not end up here at Blogcritics, as it could be considered advertising, which is not permitted in Blogcritics posts.

In that case, good post, though it would have been even better with a bit more context; I’ve been to the USA many times and wasn’t aware that Tampa was on the coast, let alone it had a suburb or neighbour called St Petersburg.

I live on the coast of Southern Spain and dabble in property but I think this development is a little out of my league!

Just wondering how the Ovation project and JMC are doing with the real estate downturn. There seems to be so much for sale in St Pete, especially at 400 Beach, that I’m wondering about financial solvency.
