Jennifer Anne Garner was born on April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas. She started in the performing arts as a ballerina and continued practicing throughout her youth. After graduating from George Washington High School she went to Denison University to study chemistry. After appearing in some plays she discovered her true passion and switched her major to Theatre.
Garner's early career saw her appearing on shows like Spin City, Significant Others and Time of Your Life. Her first break into the mainstream was a recurring role in Felicity. This lead to her breakthrough role as Sydney Bristow in the J.J. Abrams show Alias. During the five seasons of Alias Garner received four consecutive Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and won a Golden Globe and SAG award for Best Lead.
Jennifer Garner has a promising movie career (during and post Alias) with notable roles in action, comedy, drama and independent films. She has two children with husband Ben Affleck.
