Jazzercise was founded in 1969 by a jazz dancer and teacher, Judi Sheppard Missett.  Classes are high energy, dance-based and include elements of jazz dancing, Pilates, kick-boxing, yoga and strength training.  Classes are typically 60 minutes long with 30 minutes of cardio and the remaining time spent on strength training and stretching.  

There are many formats offered including, Lite, Body Sculpting, Personal Touch, Express, Junior and more.  There is something for everyone no matter your age or fitness level.

All Jazzercise instructors must be certified to teach and they meet or exceed the standards set by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and follow the guidelines of the American College of Sports Medicine.

Jazzercise if a fun class to do for those who don’t like exercise.  It is more of a dance class with exercise thrown in.  With a track record of over fourty years, Jazzercise is a good choice of exercise.
