Jason Castro Fans Invited to Webcast; Follow on Twitter

Fans of Jason Castro, the third runner up in the 2008 season of American Idol now have two new ways get their fix and pass the time until his debut album is released.

The artist will be holding a webcast, streamed from his official website, on April 29 at seven pm eastern. Castro, who stole the hearts of millions of Idol viewers with his charming acoustic numbers, will give musical performances and answer questions during the webcast. Some of the questions answered will be taken from a corresponding webchat, others will be asked to the artist via his twitter account prior to the event. Fans are encouraged to follow Castro and send those questions in this week.

Castro was singled out by Idol Judge Simon Cowell as an early favorite in March of last year on the Oprah Winfrey Show (along with fellow contests David Cook, David Archuleta, and Brook White.) "Hallelujah," arguably his most remembered performance, caused viewers to flock to iTunes, propelling the cut to the number one spot on their chart for the week. It also caused an increase in downloads for the Jeff Buckley version of the song, 178,000 total.

Look for Castro to release his debut album this summer on the Atlantic label. Also, check out the artist's Youtube page for musical and webcast videos from the artist.
