Jordan Maylea Ramirez resides in Lubbock, Texas with her husband, Robert and their three dogs and two horses. Both of Jordan’s parents have always been self-employed, thus giving her an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, leading her to begin her very first business at the age of 17. It was during that time that she first became fascinated with the subject of personal development and the impact a personal education can have on a person’s life.
She grew up riding horses and competing in dressage shows all across Texas and New Mexico. The sport continues to be one of the primary passions in her life. If she is not working or spending time with her family she can usually be found in the barn. Jordan has two younger siblings, Clayton and Paige, with whom she has a very close relationship with. One of Jordan’s passions is spending time with her family.
She and Robert enjoy entertaining friends at their home (especially during football season – Go Red Raiders!) and they love to travel the world and experience new countries and cultures together.
If you had to describe your book in two sentences, what would they be?
Lifetime of Achievement is a goal-setting tutorial that is easy to read and simple to implement. It’s full of information every aspiring individual should learn!
Do you have a favorite line or excerpt from your current work?
“Life on earth is a beautiful thing. We were not created to be discouraged, exhausted, disappointed and miserable. We were given this life so that we may live it at its fullest, and yet there are more and more people every day settling for lives of mediocrity when what they should be getting are lives of passion. We all were created with individual personalities, wants, needs and desires. We all were created with a purpose! So why are so many of us content to spend our days with no other aspiration than to live up to the status-quo? Life should not be able living for the weekends… it should just be about living!”
What are five important things that you take into consideration while writing your story?
My first goal, as I began writing, was to make the book relatable. It had to be something people could connect to on a personal level. After that, I had to make sure the steps in the book were easy to understand, easy to implement and that they have been proven to work. I made sure of this by examining the success I’ve had in my own life and making sure the road I took to reach those goals was in line with what I was writing. Finally, I wanted the book to be entertaining and fun to read; no one is going to implement something they think is boring!
Why should readers pick up your book?
Because it can change their life! That may sound a little dramatic, but it’s true. I know because I’ve read these principles in countless other books, written by highly successful people; they’ve worked time and time again in my own life and in the lives of others. The stuff I wrote is not new… I just took a lot of life-changing information and put it all in one place!
What was the turning point when you realized you wanted to write and share your voice with the world?
I have always wanted to be an author and speaker. About three years ago though I had the opportunity to share a goal-setting presentation (that I wrote) with a room of about 400 people. To see the inspiration on their faces at the end was exhilarating… that pretty much sealed the deal.
What genres do you prefer to read? Which do you enjoy writing in?
Honestly, I will read just about anything! My favorite books of the last decade have been the Harry Potter novels… I’ve read them so many times the pages are literally falling out! I also love reading anything about real-life issues… especially fiction books that are full of raw emotion and really make you think. I may write a fiction novel someday, but I really enjoy writing in the self-help genre. I love to inspire people!
What five things would you have with you at all times if you had to be prepared to take a trip at the drop of a hat?
My cell phone, my iPad (with my Kindle app!), my camera, my day planner and my husband!
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to see the future! I have such a type-A personality, and not being able to plan things that are out of my control drives me nuts!
What footprint do you want to leave behind in this world?
I want to leave behind a world full of people who believe in themselves and their potential to achieve greatness. If you can inspire people to better themselves and to live their life differently, you haven’t just done something for yourself; you’ve created a legacy.Powered by Sidelines
