If you had to describe No Time for Love in two sentences, what would they be?
A fun, romantic comedy that every woman can relate to. The perfect novel to read in front of a cozy fire or on a sandy beach – escape and enjoy!
Do you have a favorite line or excerpt from your current work?
I love all of the characters in the book that support the heroine. I especially love Lizard, Tricky Vicky, and the Texas Taxi Driver.
What are five important things that you take into consideration while writing your story?
I consider interesting characters, plot, putting a twist in the story, and making sure that the novel has a happy ending. I also believe in writing the entire novel from the heart and then going back and editing with my head.
Why should readers pick up your book?
They will believe in true love!
What was the turning point when you realized you wanted to write and share your voice with the world?
I have been writing since I started my poetry book in fifth grade. I love to observe people – the way they talk, the way they move, and the way they interact with others. I love the puzzle of relationships. I knew I wanted to write when I started writing poetry. Writing has been my friend throughout my life. I express myself in my writing and it is therapeutic. Yet, I believe in mass appeal and so I write my stories for everyone.
What genres do you prefer to read? Which do you enjoy writing in?
I love chick lit with a real twist. I try not to make my chick lit to ‘kitchy,’ yet I want it to be fun and flowing. I am very conversational with this genre. I have a proposal to my publisher for another novel in this genre.
I also love taking an interesting event in history and adding fiction, fantasy, and mystery to it. For example, the book I am writing now is a compilation of four to five semi-short stories (about 100 pages each) that combine topics or events that we may all have wondered about at some point. I bring those events to the surface and add some interesting fiction to them. I also put a little of my own experience (or family history) into many of them. I will be very excited to release True Fiction in 2013! I am writing this series under a pen name.
What five things would you have with you at all times if you had to be prepared to take a trip at the drop of a hat?
Computer. Pen. Iphone. Money/Credit Cards. My puppy!
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
The power to heal loneliness. I would like to see people be less lonely in this world. If I could heal loneliness, we would live in a more connected world. I try to help do that with my books.
What footprint do you want to leave behind in this world?
Great story teller. Compassionate and caring. Someone whom others enjoyed being with.Powered by Sidelines
