Duane Harden just doesn’t teach you theory, but rather you learn through his very own life hands-on experiences that come along with building a strong portfolio of successful businesses, including residential and commercial real estate, a restaurant, a music company, and many more. He began with no financial education, but he was determined and inspired. Today he leads a Cash Flow Club where he mentors entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their business so they, too, can become financially free.

His latest book is 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom: Do What You Love & Get Rich Doing It.

Could you please tell us a bit about your book?

If you hate your job and feel stuck in life, or you believe that your skills, education, or lack of finances prevent you from taking a chance on something new, then you need to read 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom: Do What You Love & Get Rich Doing It by Duane Harden.

Conversationally written and peppered with humorous drawings, helpful worksheets, and key tips, 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom: Do What You Love & Get Rich Doing It gives you the tools you need to change your life and teaches you how to make real money. I help you to identify your passions and turn them into a profitable business. When you love what you do, I say, it isn’t work. Attitude and confidence are everything! I demonstrate how to say yes to opportunity, yes to financial freedom, and no to the naysayers who pull you down when you’re trying to elevate yourself (the “crabs in a pot” mentality). Practice the Law of Attraction, I advise, by putting up vision boards around you and thinking on the future you desire. We attract what we imagine.

I don’t just advise. I practice what I preach. The book’s 90-day action plan is based on the process I actually used in creating my wealth, including the purchase of numerous real-estate properties, a restaurant, and a music company. My “Life Assignments” will get you thinking and acting differently. My “Keys” point out truths about learning to live a wealthier lifestyle. Rich people are not afraid to take chances, I say, and well-planned chances always pay off.

From putting your financial house in order to discovering what really makes you tick, 5 Easy Steps to Financial Freedom is a proven model that will change your life and make you wealthy in the process.

How did you come up with the title and how much say did you have on the cover design?

The title was easy as the 5 steps are easy, and I truly do what I love and build wealth doing it. I needed something catchy and inspiring for the reader. I used www.99designs.com for the cover design and then selected the 16 best entries and requested my Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Rich Dad Cash Flow Club communities to cast a vote, and the design with the most votes was selected as the cover.

Do you have a favorite line or excerpt that you would like to share from your book?

“All you need to know … is that you will never know … everything there is to know … and once you know that … you can move on.”

What are some of your favorite ways to promote your work?

I’m using www.pumpupyourbook.com virtual book tour and my social media platforms.

What is a typical writing day like for you?

I wake up, grab a bite to eat, then it’s back in bed with my laptop in my lap writing away.

What are some ways that you like to relax?

Going to the movies to see something funny with a bottle of water, box of Goobers, and medium bag of popcorn always does the trick.

What author/s do you think are overlooked in the writing/reading world today?

Unpublished authors. We are all authors and have a great story to tell. The self-publishing arena is creating the platform for an authors voice to be heard.

What author would you most like to meet and why?

Robert Kiyosaki has inspired me to do something different with my life and create wealth.

Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share with readers?

Right now, I’m working on a book that dispels the myths behind debt. So many people fall victim to “get out of debt quick” schemes from debt management companies that they don’t realize the serious financial implications of their decisions. This book will provide them with the right education to make the right decision. It will be published after my summer vacation in Ibiza, Spain.

What is something about yourself that would come as a surprise to many people?

Although I’ve been on stage in front of thousands of people singing for my music company, I’m extremely shy.
