Honey is a sweet, viscous liquid produced by honey bees and other insects. The type of honey produced by honey bees is the type that is primarily used for food, or as a sweetener, by humans.

Honey bees form nectar into honey by a process of regurgitation.

A vegan may not consume honey, however, a beegan will. A beegan is essentially a person who consumes plant based foods solely, with the exception of bee products, including honey and pollen.

Countries that are important to the production of honey include Mexico, the United States, Turkey, China, Argentina, and Ukraine.
