As Mike has pointed out, there has been a heaping ton of stuff added to the PlayStation Network today. Sony is doing a really good (evil) job of making me want to buy a PSP Go </sarcasm>.

Call me old fashioned, but I have my launch day PSP 1000 here, and a 16 GB memory stick, so while the form factor of the Go has me interested, I would rather just buy games on my clunky PSP. But what of the multitude of titles is worth your money? That is what I am here to help you out with.

PSP Minis
Alien Havoc
: Top-down game where you run around abducting cows as an alien. Looks fun, not that expensive, has not made me want to purchase it, yet.

Brainpipe: My first purchase today, IGF winner, fun little game. Think Tempest but you don't shoot, oh and very trippy. You just steer this reticule through a tunnel missing enemies and collecting orbs. A fiver well spent. (Screenshot is from the PC version of the game)

Fieldrunners: If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone you may well have this at the remarkable price of $4 off. Yes, this game cost $7 on the PS Store and $3 on the App Store. Good game, have it on my iPod. Tower defense goodness for those who only have a PSP, it keeps you busy. But then the PSP also has Monsters now.

Funky Punch: Another iPhone game, which isn't really anything special, but its a fighting game – also a buck cheaper on iPhone.

Hero of Sparta: This is a great iPhone game, again it costs less on the App Store. Here you will pay $7 for it. From what I have seen this is not the better version of the game. Still, its fun, but is on sale for $2 right now for the iPhone.

Sudoku: This looks to be the same version EA pushed on the iPod and iPhone, I have it on my iPod Video, and I am not buying it again.

Tetris: I am tempted to buy this – just because it is Tetris – but they want $10 for it, and I paid $5 for it on my iPod Video (anyone noticing a trend here?). However it does contain quite a bit more modes. I have better things to spend my money on today.

Noteworthy Additions
There are too many choices available today, really. Here are the top games you will find available for your PSP today.

Gran Turismo:  This may be on your radar if you just want a pick up and play sim, but be warned, it has no career mode. Still an amazing driving game. Read our full review.

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge: If you enjoyed the two games on the PS3, this one will delight, thought UMD may be better if you are worried about disk space. Full review coming soon.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona: Another recent UMD release, Persona is a re-translation of the 1996 classic PSOne game.

WTF: Work Time Fun:  Quirky mini-game game that is worth picking up right now for the low, low price of $5.

Crush: Crush is a satisfying puzzler from SEGA that combines 2-D and 3-D platforming, and went unnoticed by many.

THEXDER NEO: Here is $10 worth of retro gaming goodness, a classic action-arcade game from way back in 1985. You are a robot, and can transform into a space ship. You shoot stuff. Do I really need to say any more? The PSP version has an online (Infrastructure) mode though I find no open rooms yet.

There are plenty more available for download today, and a number of them that are worth a recommendation, but the above are my top pics for this massive PSN update. And if you did get a PSP Go today, let me know if your fingers get cramped after all the button mashing you will be doing today.
