As most of us know, life can be like a ride on a roller coaster. There are ups and downs and sometimes you just don’t know what’s coming next. There are times when you can see what’s coming, but it happens so fast you don’t have time to do anything about it. In the blur of everything that is going by, it is important to remember that everyone has these ups and downs. If you feel like you are at a down point, there are things that can help. One of these things is healing quotes.

Healing quotes are just that, quotes that can help to heal us. Regardless of whether our pain is physical, mental, or spiritual, quotes can often inspire us to heal and see things from a different light. Finding a quote that speaks to you and your situation can help you to overcome any obstacle or difficulty you may be having. Quotes are often powerful reminders of our situation and how to deal with things that are going on in our lives.

There are numerous books and websites that have inspirational quotes. These quotes are often by famous people such as authors, religious leaders, artists, or even people you may never have heard of. When you begin reading through some of these quotes, some will jump out at you as if they were written for you and your situation, while others you may just skim over. When you find one that speaks to you, print it out or rewrite it. Keeping it handy can help to remind you of things you may want to work on or think more about. Often, these quotes can just remind us to put things into perspective. As your situation changes for the better, you can always find new quotes to help you to further heal.

An example of a quote that anyone can use during difficult times is by Stephan Hoeller, a religious leader from Hungary who now resides in the U.S. He says, “A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear resulting from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl.”

When we read into what Mr. Hoeller is saying, it gives us the basis of all human life. Every one of us has things we need to overcome, but with the painful or negative in our lives, we are able to see and appreciate the goodness that comes out of it. It is like the old saying that without evil we wouldn’t know what good is. Without the bad times, we wouldn’t be able to celebrate the good times.

A quote by Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian poet, is: “Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” Many times when we are dealing with difficulties in life, our perception is what makes the worst of them. If we are able to change our perception, we can change how we view the situation. Seeing a cloud as delivering color to our world, and not just rain and storms, can help us to see the good in all things.

Another beautiful quote by Mr. Tagore is: “If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars.” So again, if a person decides to change their perception, it can change how they react to and deal with what is negative in their life.

There is another way in which quotes work. They can help to remind a person that they are not alone in what they are feeling. Knowing that others have gone through what you are going through can help to put your view of life into perspective. There are virtually no situations or experiences that others haven’t experienced in this world. While it may seem as if you are the only one feeling the way you are, the reality is that you aren’t. Many times people get stuck in feeling they are in a rut and no one else can understand because they are not going through the same thing at the same time. When you then read a quote said or written by another, it makes you realize that you are not alone in what you are going through. You may not know them personally, but there are others out there who understand and would empathize with what you are going through.

Quotes can be a powerful tool for helping us to feel better, put our lives into perspective, and help us to overcome what may seem like a desperate situation. They can work wonders because they can connect to us in ways that people in our life may not be able to. They show us that we are not singular in our troubles, and if we focus on the positive, we can overcome anything. If we look at our lives from a different perspective we can see how things can change for the better after having been through the bad. As human beings, we are not alone in our circumstances. There are many others who may be experiencing what we are or even dealing with much worse.

Looking up healing quotes can be the first step in helping ourselves to overcome any condition that we would like to change. It is the first step in taking control over what has happened and turning it into a learning or positive experience. Finding the right quote can help to get a person on the right track when changing things for the better. It can be the first step of many to creating the best life possible. If you find yourself in need of inspiration, take time to look at some quotes in a book or online. It may be just what you need to turn your life around for the better.

    Great article! I know that in the past I have given small quote books to people as gifts because I have felt the power of these statements in my own life. I hate to show how much of a Harry Potter fanatic I am, but in the current film, Dumbledore tells Harry that he always felt that the turn of phrase or usage of words were the most magical. I think this very true. A word can evoke deep joy and love, or alternatively create a sense of sadness and denigration. The quotes, phrases, or proverbs one holds onto can inspire a new way of feeling or perceiving the world. Words are magic.
