The surviving members of Great White will perform one song at a benefit gig being staged next month in memory of Ty Longley, the band’s guitarist who
was one of the 99 who died in that tragic nightclub fire in Rhode Island.
The show will take place at the Key Club in West Hollywood on 29 Apr and
will raise money for the Longley memorial fund that has been created to
support the late guitarist’s pregnant girlfriend, victims of the fire and
students seeking art scholarships. The band say they have no immediate plans
to perform together as a band after that gig, though they may appear
individually at other benefit / memorial shows. Authorities are still to
decide whether the venue or band management were to blame for the fire that
began after a pyro display went wrong ? as previously reported the venue
claim they were not warned that pyros would be used, the band claim they
were given permission.
Marty: Well if the band are found to be innocent in this matter; I hope they can perform again. However, considering the speed of the investigation, it will probably be a long time before the band play as one again.Powered by Sidelines
