As gas prices have been rising this past week in Topeka (KS), oil prices have been dropping, while nationwide gas prices dropped 14 cents a gallon. The week started out with gas being at $2.59 and got as high as $2.85 before pulling back at most stations a few hours later to $2.79 this morning. So why did Topeka’s gas prices go up 20 cents this week?

Some of that may be because there are still a dozen refineries shut down, making it harder to produce the gas to meet the high demand of Americans. Then again if that was the case the gas prices would be up nationwide, rather then down. One has to wonder if prices are rising in an area, while they are falling everywhere else if it isn’t price gouging.

Oil prices closed today at $66.24 a barrel, down 55 cents.

And that’s the way I see it! And now for your thoughts…
