XBox 360 Review: Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Tekken is a fighting game franchise created by Namco.  The original Tekken was released in 1994 and there have been several sequels and spin offs since that time.  The story in the game documents the events of a fictional martial arts tournament called the King of Iron Fist Tournament. The first Tekken Tag Tournament, was released in 1999 and now we're get Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 features one-on-one fighting and solo fighter versus a tag team battle.  These new modes of play provide extra options for Tekken fans and may draw in new players who are used to one-on-one fighting formats. New players will begin at the Fight Lab to learn the basics of how to play.  The Lab is pretty much a tutorial where you play as Combot in a series of stages that are made specifically to help you learn the game.  The further you get, the more options you have to earn money and customize your Combot with hundreds of different moves used in the game.

Several different battle types are available offline including Arcade Battle where you play the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2,  Ghost Battle where you battle against a series of ghost characters, VS Battle where you can fight head-to-head offline, and Team Battle where you can form a team and fight against another player or the CPU in team-on-team battles.   Other options include Time Attack where you must clear a series of stages as quickly as you can, Survival where you are challenged to defeat as many opponents as possible using limited health, Practice where you can practice each character's movies and combos or train against specific characters, and Pair Play where you can play VS tag battles with up to four players.
