Xbox 360 Review: Saints Row - Page 5

The online lobby system allows you to run around and shoot people while you wait. It helps bide the time, and works well.

What doesn't always work well is the general online experience. Lag creeps up, sometimes severely, in all the modes. Co-op play sees the least of the lag, though. The developer has noticed the lag and glitches, but no patch is out yet.

It is easy to tell that the game's online component was not the main focus. The lag is really bad at times, and that is just no fun. But regardless, "Blinged Out Ride" is a lot of fun, and online multiplayer does extend the life of Saints Row tremendously.

Conclusion

You don't have to break the mold to stand out. A game also does not need to be unique to be enjoyable. Saints Row is not original, but at the same time it refines the GTA standard in many ways. That is why it is a success.

The game has a superior menu system and heads up display. The graphics are slick, especially in high definition, with wildly satisfying explosions that send car parts flying everywhere. The audio mix is utilized to the fullest to create a sense of immersion.

Volition studied Grand Theft Auto, and addressed its many flaws. While Saints Row is not flawless in its own right, the developer should be commended for furthering the genre.

We have seen many blatant copies of GTA before, but none have been executed this well. Still, Saints Row does not hold up to the overall production of a GTA game. In spots, however, it shines.

Saints Row is easy to recommend, even to people who otherwise don't care for the GTA series. It changes enough to warrant a look, even if you have your doubts about open-world games.

Saints Row is rated M (Mature) by the ESRB for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol.

My brother can't seem to put this game down. He traded in Oblivion for it. Much better than GTA.

the game is spectacular9i have beat it 100%).i like the game alot it is a game you can still play even after you beat it.but sadly the ending if horrable.you go meet the chif of police on a boat that has a boam that juleus put on it(but your guy does not know about it). then he calls his thugs out. right when you get ready for a big fight you here a bepping.then booooooooom.the boat is split in half and no one that was on the deck is to be found(not even you).then you listen to the creadets and all that.then you are foced to load your last save. which is a bad ending(personaly it should have let you be able to roam with the game beaten). that is one of the few downers to this game.so do u think that is a good ending or do you agree with me!?????
