Again, in a normal game it would be easy to escape the guards, just run up the nearest building and they can’t follow you. In Assassin’s Creed however the guards have the same moves as you do and will chase you across rooftops and up walls. Altaïr finally managed to escape this group by shoving one off a building rooftop and hiding in a small alcove.
With a quick return to the Assassin’s Guild Altaïr had completeled his mission and we our demo.
It was very intense, easily showed just how much fun this game is going to be. I got a few minutes of hands on play with the game after the demo had ended and I can safely say it was the most enjoyable game I played that day. Controls are ridiculously simple and entirely context based. There’s no multi-button combinations needed to perform any basic task so even the most novice of player’s should be able to pick up the title without getting frustrated.
Combat really does require precise timing, but you’ll get used to it in no time at all. Altaïr’s range of weapons was limited in the demo to the Assassin’s Blade and I believe just a sword, but the final version should hopefully sport a few more, including several projectile weapons such as a crossbow.
As if there was ever any doubt before, Assassin’s Creed is clearly going to be a must buy this Christmas season and I for one cannot wait.
