What's New on the Wii/DSi Shop Channel for December 27, 2010

Part of: Wii/DSi Shop News and Releases

This week on the Nintendo download services, we've got yet more Virtual Console goodness, chicken strategy and geography games. And the DSi has a few interesting little games, too, if by interesting you mean a bit generic.

This week's games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have DodoGo! Challenge (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, 500 DSi Points), Fantasy Slots: Adventure Slots and Games (Big John Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) and G.G Series Z-One (Genterprise Inc., 1 player, 200 DSi Points). DodoGo! Challenge tasks you with finding all the DodoGo eggs to help save the species, Fantasy Slots: Adventure Slots and Games is a portable slots title, while G.G Series Z-One is your weekly generic shoot 'em up.

WiiWare has two titles this week: Around the World (Wizarbox, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points) and Chick Chick Boom (tons of bits, 1-4 players, 800 Wii Points). There's also a demo of an earlier release, Max & the Magic Marker. Around the World tests your geography and history skills. Chick Chick Boom is not just one more "Boom" away from being a lawsuit in the making: it's a strategy game involving chickens and other animals.

And the Virtual Console's got two new games: Fighter's History Dynamite (Neo Geo, D4 Enterprise, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points) and Magical Drop 3 (Neo Geo, D4 Enterprise, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points). Both are sequels and do exactly the same game play-wise as their predecessors did. Therefore, if you liked the previous installments in these series, you'll probably like these two games. Really, it's about all I can say.

Fighter's History Dynamite debuted on the Japanese Virtual Console in June. Magical Drop 3 debuted on the Japanese Virtual Console in July. They, along with Around the World and Chick Chick Boom, are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while DodoGo! Challenge, Fantasy Slots: Adventure Slots and Games and G.G Series Z-One are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
