What's New on the Wii/DSi Shop Channel for October 11, 2010

Part of: Wii/DSi Shop News and Releases

This week on the Nintendo download services, we've got quite a bit. Want a new Sonic game? Done. A DSi version of a Wii title? Done. A superhero-themed brawler? You got it. A notebook app? ... No, not now, not ever.

Anyways, this week's games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have Ivy the Kiwi? Mini (XSEED, 1 player, 500 DSi Points), Datamine (Enjoy Gaming, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) and G.G. Series Super Hero Ogre (Genterprise, 1 player, 200 DSi Points). Ivy the Kiwi? Mini is a bite-sized version of the retail game with the similar name. And if you haven't played that, it's somewhat like Kirby Canvas Curse but a little more fun. Datamine puts you in the metal shoes of a robot who has to protect all of humanity's data by shooting bubbles in the right order. G.G. Series Super Hero Ogre is the newest G.G. Series title and is a brawler with a nice superhero theme to it.

WiiWare has two titles this week: Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (Sega, 1 player, 1,500 Wii Points) and Triple Jumping Sports (The Code Monkeys, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points). Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is, well, it's the first episode in Sonic's long-awaited return to side-scrolling platform action. Triple Jumping Sports has three jumping sports, not players jumping three times over the World Series or the Super Bowl.

The Virtual Console is too busy playing Sonic 4 and didn't show up for work today.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 and Triple Jumping Sports are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Ivy the Kiwi? Mini, Datamine and G.G. Series Super Hero Ogre are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
