What's New on the Wii/DSi Shop Channel for July 12, 2010

Part of: Wii/DSi Shop News and Releases

It's hot outside. Too hot. So don't go out. Stay inside and play some new games on the Wii and DSi instead! This week sees seven games in total on the download services:

On DSiWare this week, we have Primrose (Sabarasa, 1 player, 200 DSi Points), Pop Island - Paperfield (odenis studio, 1-8 players, 200 DSi Points), Music On: Retro Keyboard (Abylight, 1 player, 200 DSi Points), 24/7 Solitaire (cosmigo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) and 4 Travellers - Play French (AGENIUS Interactive, 1-4 player, 800 DSi Points). Primrose is an iPhone puzzle game port. Pop Island - Paperfield is a racing game with tons of different rides to pick from. Music On: Retro Keyboard is, surprisingly, a retro keyboard app you can use to make music. 24/7 Solitaire (cosmigo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) features 24 types of solitaire, and 4 Travellers - Play French is a board game that lets you practice your French.

WiiWare has two titles this week: Toribash (Nabi Studios, 1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points) and Balloon Pop Festival (UFO Interactive, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points). Toribash is a port of an odd-controlling but ridiculously fun freeware PC game that I've played before. I'm not sure how it'll translate to the Wii, but I know this much: the action moves as fast as you want it to be, and once you get good at this game, you can do some ridiculous stuff. Balloon Pop Festival, on the other hand, is a balloon popping puzzle game.

The Virtual Console is still on vacation.

Toribash and Balloon Pop Festival are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Primrose, Pop Island - Paperfield, Music On: Retro Keyboard, 24/7 Solitaire and 4 Travellers - Play French are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
