What's New on the Wii/DSi Shop Channel for June 14, 2010

Part of: Wii/DSi Shop News and Releases

It's E3 time, but just because Nintendo's focus is in Los Angeles, it doesn't mean they've forgotten about the Virtual Console, WiiWare, and DSiWare! While we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what's coming down the line, we've got plenty to talk about today, including a new Virtual Console title, the Wii port of a casual game juggernaut, and... a shooting watch application? Don't worry, I'll try to explain.

This week's releases are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have A Kappa's Trail (Nintendo, 1 Player, 500 DSi Points), Telegraph Crosswords (Sanuk Games, 1 Player, 500 DSi Points), Flips: Silent But Deadly (Electronic Arts, 1 Player, 500 DSi Points), Music on: Electronic Keyboard (Abylight, 1 Player, 200 DSi Points), and 16 Shot! SHOOTING WATCH (Hudson, 1 Player, 200 DSi Points). A Kappa's Trail is a stylus-controlled game where you have to guide a kappa to his pond home by drawing him a path and avoiding all kinds of pitfalls. Telegraph Crosswords is a collection of crossword puzzles which, by the title, I believe come from British paper The Daily Telegraph. Flips: Silent But Deadly is the latest addition to the Flips book series from EA, this time uncovering a deadly secret. Music on: Electronic Keyboard is an electronic keyboard app with user-definable chords, sixteen electronic instruments, a metronome, recording and replay options, and more. 16 Shot! SHOOTING WATCH is actually based off a real-world item. It sounds stupid, I know, but Hudson's been making these shooting watches off and on for what seems like forever, and they are not easy to track down. The basic point is that it shows you how quickly you can press the buttons, or, helps you practice for old-school shooters. You know, before the turbo controller made that not as relevant.

WiiWare has three titles this week: Bejeweled 2 (PopCap, 1 Player, 1000 Wii Points), Arcade Sports (Icon, 2 Players, 800 Wii Points), and Yard Sale Hidden Treasures: Sunnyville (Konami, 1 Player, 500 Wii Points) Bejeweled 2 is the Wii version of the insanely popular "casual" puzzle title. Arcade Sports is a collection of four sports to play: air hockey, bowling, pool, and snooker. I don't think we have any of those yet, do we? Yard Sale Hidden Treasures: Sunnyville has you hunting yard sales to find hidden treasures and save the world. No, I'm not making this up.
