Happy Halloween everybody! Well, it's Saturday to be precise, but since I won't be posting another one of these until next Monday, I can be a little early. Of course, Nintendo's in the same boat, so they've decided to give us our Wii and DSi Halloween gifts a bit early. But did we get a nasty trick or a tasty treat with this week's releases? Read on to find out!
This week's games are as follows:
On DSiWare, we have two new games: PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff (Nintendo, 1-4 players, 500 DSi Points) and the aptly named Sudoku (EA, 1 player, 200 DSi Points. Sudoku is yet another sudoku game, this one from EA and with a few interesting little twists to it, but really, it's just sudoku. PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff is an interesting title in which players compete for points by adding or subtracting colored chips from rows on the game board. On top of that, you've also got to guess each of your opponent’s secretly assigned chip colors and call them out on it. Other than that, we really don't have much info on this game, so it's hard to tell exactly what it is.
On WiiWare, we've got Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 (Telltale Games, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) and Ghost Mansion Party (Gameloft, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points). Ghost Mansion Party is a multiplayer party game with a ghostly theme, perfect for this week. Similarly, Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 is not only a great game, but the new storyline centers around a curse/plague having been unleashed upon the Caribbean that our old pal Guybrush Threepwood has to stop to save both the lovely Elaine and everybody else. Telltale's done well with the series so far, so I'd expect this to be another solid use of 1,000 points.
