This week on the DSi and Wii Shop Channels, we've got eight games total: five for the DSi and three for the Wii. We've also got a new addition to the Virtual Console Arcade, a WiiWare game sequel, and five bite-sized portable games from Nintendo featuring a loved character in Domo-kun.
This week's games are as follows:
On DSiWare, we have five, count that, five Domo games from Nintendo: Crash-Course Domo, Hard-hat Domo, Pro-Putt Domo, White Water Domo, and Rock-n-Roll Domo (all 1 player, 200 DSi Points). The games are very brief titles, featuring only a few levels with Domo-kun racing bikes, climbing ladders, playing golf, riding the rapids in a kayak, and rocking out to some tunes, respectively. The games look good, even though they're bite-sized, but the question will really be if they're actually any good content-wise. Considering it's Nintendo, I'm leaning towards yes, and for these games to appeal to more than Domo-kin's fans, that had better be the case.
On WiiWare, we've got LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias (Frontier, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) and Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem (Hudson Entertainment, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points). LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias is the sequel to the earlier WiiWare release, LostWinds. This one features the return of Toku and Enril the Wind Spirit. This time, they're back with more platforming action and a new task: to break an evil spell put upon Toku's mother and the other villagers. The first LostWinds was fun, albeit short, so here's hoping the sequel gives Wii gamers a lot more of what they've wanted. The other title, Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem, is a shooting game where you play as monkeys and shoot lizardmen throughout different levels of history. It's a pretty odd premise, yes, but it's also a fairly basic point and shoot title. It's the weaker of the two titles for sure, but that doesn't make it bad.
