Hmmmm, seems like something's kinda off this week on the Wii Shopping Channel. The DSi Shopping Channel has a new title, and WiiWare's got three new ones, including a game that's probably going to sell a lot based on name alone, but the Virtual Console is ... well, let's just say it's different this week.
This week's games are as follows:
On DSiWare, we have ArtStyle: Zengage (Nintendo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points). Zengage is the latest Art Style game to his the DSi, and this one has players sliding around blocks to reach certain spots in a puzzle. There are 100-plus levels in this title and it seems simple enough for anyone to play, but probably will be tough to master.
On WiiWare, there are three titles this week; Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord (Square-Enix, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points), Battle Poker (Left Field Productions, 1-4 players, 800 Wii Points) and 5 Spots Party (Cosmonaut Games, 1-4 players, 500 Points). Battle Poker is one part poker, one part Uno, and seems like it could be a fun title if you get four people playing it. 5 Spots Party is, not surprisingly, a party title for the Wii that features players looking at pictures to see what inconsistencies there are between them. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord, though, is the big release that's going to get most of the attention this week. Players take control of the daughter of the Darklord in what really amounts to a tower defense-style game but with a Final Fantasy twist to it — players place monsters and traps in the way of heroes to keep them from reaching the tower.
On the Virtual Console this week is ... nothing? Well, that was a bit unexpected. Here's hoping next week we get something nice to make up for it.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord, Battle Poker and 5 Spots Party are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while ArtStyle: Zengage is available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.
Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
