What's New on the Wii/DSi Shop Channel for May 2, 2011

Part of: Wii/DSi Shop News and Releases

The Virtual Console returns this week with one new brawling title for you to pick up. The rest ... well, the rest is a little bit unappealing to me. Why? Well, mostly it's nothing too fresh: sequels to stuff we've seen before, a lone demo, and some very, very simple little games. But why listen to me? Check it out for yourself!

This week's games are as follows:

WiiWare has a game and a demo this week in the form of Bingo Party Deluxe (Ateam, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points) and a demo of Bit. Trip Runner (Aksys Games, 1 player). Bingo Party Deluxe, in case you can't somehow guess, is a collection of bingo games. Three, to be precise. Exciting.

On DSiWare, we have Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 - From the Abyss (Sonic Powered, 1 player, 200 DSi Points), Ikibago (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) and Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist (505 Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points). Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 - From the Abyss is the second in the series of randomly generated dungeon crawling titles. Ikibago is a matching game with barrels and a pirate theme to it. Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist is a picture app that lets you give your subjects new hairstyles.

The Virtual Console has a new title this week: Rival Turf! (Jaleco, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points). This Super Nintendo title is really a middle-of-the-road beat 'em up title and probably not my first pick of games from that genre. Mostly because it's not Final Fight.

Rival Turf! debuted on the PAL Virtual Console in October 2010 and the Japanese Virtual Console in December 2010. It, along with Bingo Party Deluxe and the demo, is downloadable off the Wii Shop Channel right now, while Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 - From the Abyss, Ikibago and Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

That's it for this week's list of DSiWare and WiiWare games. Until next time, happy gaming!
