In the year 20XX, Nintendo released a game on the Virtual Console that's perhaps reaffirmed a feeling that they care about the Virtual Console at all. I kind of hinted at at least what franchise the game's in (hint: it's "mega"), and I'm glad it's out this week, because otherwise, there isn't a whole lot to talk about on the DSiWare or WiiWare services!
This week's games are as follows:
On DSiWare, we've got GO Series Captain Sub (Gamebridge, 1 player, 200 DSi Points), DodoGo! Robo (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) and Music on: Learning Piano Volume 2 (Abylight, 1 player, 200 DSi Points). GO Series Captain Sub puts you in the shoes (or is it boots?) of a submarine captain, searching the depths of the ocean for lost treasure while having to fend off deadly sea creatyres with missiles. DodoGo! Robo puts you in control of a robot in a little puzzle title, using the stylus to help your robot friend collect icons around each level to progress onward. Music on: Learning Piano Volume 2 puts you behind the keyboard of a piano and has you play the classics. It's as simple as that.
WiiWare has one new title, My Little Baby (dtp young entertainment, 1 player, 600 Wii Points), along with a demo of BIT.TRIP CORE (Aksys Games, 1-2 players). My Little Baby is, you guessed it, a baby simulator. That means raising your little one, rockign them to sleep, dressing them, teaching them to crawl and walk, and everything else you'd have to do if you'd actually have a baby.
The Virtual Console's here with one new game this week: Mega Man X (Super NES, Capcom, 1 player, 800 Wii Points). Mega Man X sets itself in the future, long past Dr. Light's passing, and puts you in the shoes of his lost creation (a.k.a. the titular character). From there on out, it's pretty much your usual Mega Man title, albeit with 16-bit graphics.
Mega Man X came out earlier this month on the Japanese Virtual Console. It, My Little Baby and the demo are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while GO Series Captain Sub, are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel
